Go see the movie if you are interested in seeing the movie. I liked it despite all the nonsensical hate reviews. If you have the time and money check it out. If you don’t like it then you don’t like it. You probably have spent more on worse endeavors. The music was really good as were the vocal performances. And the set pieces were quite well done and magical. My daughter gave it 5 stars, so who am I to disagree with that tastes and inclinations of my 9 year old daughter who studies ballet and loves to sing. Peace

The acting was good, but the actual script seemed a bit flat and not really worthy of the actors. The plot was moved along by Jean Grey’s story, but some other ideas seemed really disjointed and thrown to add more complexity than necessary. It felt like a reboot of the first Dark Phoenix movie with Famke Jansen as Jean Grey/Dark Phoenix. Also here, there is no Wolverine so the relationship drama really wasn’t there. Also, based on the past movies with these actors it seems a bit of a leap to see them in these positions and doing what they are doing. The continuity between movies, for me, was not there. I think this a good rental movie if you want to veg out on the couch one evening; not looking to get too engaged or intellectually stimulated.
