I really went into this show hooked. I don’t usually like binge watching TV shows, but the initial plot of Manifest was quite interesting to me. It started to get very confusing with the plot though in season two. For an example, the Major and the missing passengers were such a big deal in all of season 1, but they’re hardly at all even mentioned in season 2. The focal point of stoping the major from what seemed to be terrorizing everyone from 828 in season 1 seemed to move drastically to focusing on finding the X’ers or the radical opposers of 828. Another example, they devoted a whole episode to things like the Bank holdup, or the night club fire, and the next episode, goes on with the plot like nothing happened. I think the same impact could’ve been made maybe stretching the bigger/better events into a couple episodes.
To sum my review up, I like this show for what it is. There is a really decent cast, and is a very dramatically addictive show, regardless of any complaints made, however, the storyline is all over the place, making it hard to keep up with the main plot. I like how they focus on different parts of the plot, however I think it could be beneficial to the show to do less of Grace and Ben or the daughter, and more of some of the other passengers, such as the ones that were tested on early on that we seemed to never hear from again. Same with Vince. He is alive, and he came back heavily for an episode or two, then seemed to fade away with hardly any mentions just like the major. My biggest complaint with the show is this. How could you let the biggest issue in the show slip so much from the plot? The character drama on this show sometimes gets old too, but as I mentioned earlier, it’s addicting and keeps you watching. - Good show overall, just could use some tweaks to make more sense.
