This book is an embarrassment to the word "comprehensive". No beginner patterns. No images at all. Contains such unhelpful advice as "Read however much as could reasonably be expected about lace making" and "Learn as much as possible about how to pick the most fitting string for the ribbon that you need to make" rather than actually containing any information on those subjects itself.
