Like a rival to "blinded by the light"- the better rival mind (from the early, unfinished version I saw of 'blinded by the light'), exploring the difference of a world with and without Springsteen and the Beatles respectively. Though Yesterday is funny (thanks to Rocky and blood sucking manager), sometimes Surprising (hi Ed and Sarah Lancaster) and entertaining in some places, for me the chemistry between the leads was never really there and given the whole basis of the film was about love, I never found myself rooting for them. In the end that posed the most problems but a shame - it's a film with an original storyline and good music. It's definitely not movie gold and not Curtis' finest but there are worse things to do than see this on a spare afternoon, especially if you are a Beatles fan.
