A fascinating portrait of an unjustly forgotten artistic genius. What a complex personality Szukalski was; his life was connected with many of the most significant events of the 20th century in Europe and America, particularly his home country of Poland and what happened to it during WWII and the Communist rule afterwards. It's also very timely in an unexpected way. I knew this documentary would be interesting right from the start, but if you go into this blind (as I did), you will have no clue where it's going to take you - some parts are disturbing, some inspiring, some heartbreaking. Simply a must-see.
