As many have pointed out :Graphics, visuals, and sound effects were phenominal. A pretty solid game overall. I think a lot of the 1 and 2 star reviews were submitted within the first hour or two of gameplay, because that is how I would have rated it at that point. However, after finishing the game, a lot of the issues that many players have in this part of the game do somewhat resolve themselves gradually as you progress. I will agree that the melee combat in the game is horrible and repetitive, but that becomes less an issue as you progress the game and can utilize all the other weapons without over-relying on melee. My cheif complaint overall in the game is the slow swapping of weapons in tense encounters. It desperately needed a way of creating shortcuts to guns with the d-pad. I died many times trying to swap gun and dodge at the same time. And dodging also cancels the swap, with little time to adjust after. The story was decent but took a while to develop or go anywhere meaningful, bur finishes stronger. At about 11 hours with my playthrough, it does compare in length to dead space, although it is definetly not dead space in any other sense.
