I’m getting really fed up with seeing Savanna and Hoda be the two Today Show hosts. Too much estrogen, with too much plastic smiling. I’m not a sexist or anything like that, but they think they are too cute and it shows. I almost feel like they are doing a jr. high news production, and the tons of commercials between the actual news stories are overwhelming. I am changing my viewing regimen to some other station where they treat their viewers as adults who need the news of the day in a concise, serious manner. Maybe NBC should consider no commercial breaks in the first half hour, then the cutesy stuff could be sprinkled in for the seniors who have all day to watch the show with their visits to the outside crowd and the Jill’s Steals. Then, one of the incidental things that stick in my craw, is when Al and Dillan started mispronouncing the word “Appalachian.” The middle “a” is a long A sound. Why did they ever decide that that was the wrong way? It is listed as the third choice in the dictionary, and they’d always pronounced it with the long A sound before. Who told them to change it??? Oh well, I won’t be bothered with it anymore, I’m changing to the other station. You know, the one that gives news without worrying how many times their hosts smile at the cameras!
