A psychological tour de force. It shows how the lines of the social norms can become blurred by one's own struggle between right and wrong and survival. The justice system throws people into a world where your only redemption can be not what you want to be.. but what you are forced to be in order to save the things you love. How the choices you make can no longer be controlled by your own mind. It is a sad potrayal (much like veterans who come back changed men) of how life can sometimes take away all your good intentions and twist them to the road to hell.
