ANDHADHUN
‘Andhadhun’ is a bollywood psychological thriller film starring Ayushman Khurrana, Radhika Apte ,Tabu and Anil Dhawan and written and directed by Sriram Raghavan & Arijit Biswas. This film was released in 2018. This film was a huge hit in box-office and also appreciated by critics and audiences.
Here I am trying to review or rather share my experience about this film.
STORY :
The central character of this film is Akash played by Ayushman Khurrana who is a Piano-Player who pretends to be blind. One day he becomes the eye-witness of the murder of a former actor played by Anil Dhawan . But everyone knows that he is actually a blind person and for that purpose all the mysteries and confusions started happening. I don’t want to reveal much more thing about the story.
But if we follows this film carefully then we will be able to understand that it’s a story of evil and at the end the good persons get deceived which is a clear reflection of our society. The film is so brilliantly written that it has that capability to engage and entertain people with each of the moments of the film. We can’t predict anything from any scene and that makes this film so special and also perfect as a thriller. The thrilling elements of this film are extraordinary but there are so many comedy scenes which are equally entertaining. Specially the climax of this film is absolutely unpredictable and regarding the ending there were multiple possibilities which is known as ‘Open-end’. The screenplay is so special because it not only entertains people but also make them think about every moments of this film.
CASTING AND PERFORMANCE :
In this film we have Ayushman Khurrana, Tabu,Radhika Apte, Anil Dhawan in the lead roles. All of them have done a great job. Specially Ayushman in a role of a blind musician. Apart from him Tabu was also amazing in a negative role. But apart from them the supporting casts were also amazing.
MUSIC
Piano played a very important role in case of music in this film. The music by Amit Trivedi is dominated by piano pieces but the he does not let that come into the way of the album's range. He puts together a soundtrack that is sweet, edgy, peppy and meditative in equal parts. All the songs like ‘Naina Da Kya Kasoor’, ‘Aap Se Milkar’, ‘Laila laila’and ‘Who Ladki’are really some sweet romantic songs where piano has played a very important role.
CINEMATOGRAPHY :
K U Mohanan, is the cinematographer of this film. He also did a mesmerizing work.As it is a thriller film so that’s why the look and feel of the film was very important and the way it has been shot that is really awesome. Mainly continuos shots were taken to give a dark theme which was perfect for this film.
DIRECTION :
Last but not the list the direction of Sriram Raghavan. We all know that he is very much well-known for making thriller films for example Badlapur,Ek Hasina Thi etc but Andhadhun probably his best thriller till date where he has given us a brilliantly written story with lots of thrilling elements and also incorporated musical instrument like piano in such a way that it becomes a very interesting and important character of this film. So the story and direction is simply brilliant.
OVERALL REVIEW :
In a nutshell it is a very experimental and brilliantly made hindi thriller film which gradually became popular through out whole India and also all over the world. So it’s a must watch for all cinema-lovers. I want to rate this film as 9/10.
