The book is written in old British English which has lengthy sentences and are verbose. Therefore, have some patience while you read it. I am not someone who loves gardening, but those who does, this book might interest them. However, I learnt the name of varieties of roses and other plants about which I did not know before . The book is so rich in vocabulary that you can naturally improve your word stock. Arnim has basically described her endless love for nature and gardening and how passionate she is for her garden. She is someone who loves to be all by herself and her plants, away from people and other public interference in her life. She is ready to spent her life in complete isolation and dedicate all her love to her trees. I did not get along with this book before page 60 which is a bit rare for me. Because, reading has always been enjoyed by me and there is no thumb rule for book lovers that everyone has to like every book. I used to read five pages of it daily to get a nice sleep as this book really used to make me sleepy. Pardon me for writing like this, but it is, what it is. The review is personal, hence to discover more, you have to read it.
