Thoroughly enjoyed this film. Good balance of humor (some dark), action, and serious moments.

I suffered from Kevin Hart fatigue and was skeptical when a family member insisted I give True Story a chance. Apparently, she knows what's best for me because I loved this series. Critics please stop hating on this man and give him the praise he deserves. Without a doubt, this is Kevin Hart's best work to date in my humble opinion. I mean my mouth dropped at how much Kevin acted his a** off in this dramatic role in ways like I've never seen him do before. Of course, Wesley Snipes' acting is always top notch in any role. Together these two were fascinating to watch. Also, another standout was the actor who played the character, Gene. Whoever cast this man needs a rose and a raise. The plot has enough suspense, exciting twist and turns, and tidbits of "truth" from Kevin Hart's real life to get you hooked. I can't see how anyone can resist binge-watching True Story in one seating.
