I find that many reviews talk about how they did not like the blandness of Jules in the show. However, I think that her normalcy as a character was quite relatable and that it was refreshing to see someone similar to me on the screen. People don't always have to be extravagant to be interesting, and I find that her calm nature added to the show. I loved all of the characters and I felt that if Jules had been made too extravagant, it would have been very unrealistic. The others had very strong personalities, and I think it is fitting that she is not as strong as they are. I think they wanted to show true feminism as accepting of all women as they are, not just the ones with big personalities. I also think that, while is not always the case, the storyline of her falling off with her friends due to her relationship is a relatable one, I'm not sure why so many said it was unrealistic. I myself have had falling outs with friends because they were in relationships. All in all, this show is definitely one of my favorites, the satire and magical realism really pushed it over the top for me and it is definitely something new and unique that makes this show a diamond in the rough. The actors were all incredible (I've been fans of them all since before this show came out, so maybe I am a bit biased) but I would definitely recommend it!
