Bit of a let down, especially considering it's a £58 game (£57 if you buy the switch one version then upgrade it?). Doesn't really feel like a pokemon game. Poorly executed with a alot of filler content. Some of the side missions are poorly thought out, for example: cafe worker asks you to walk some pokemon down an alley away from the cafe as she's too busy, then after a 30 second walk down an alley to some bins she appears beside you to finish the quest. What was the point if you left the cafe with me? Or a man asking for a pokemon to help him with his work then u follow him and the pokemon to his wife that then tells a teenager their marrital problems. Many of the story missions don't make sense either? Idk. A lot of the new mechanics are poorly optimised, especially using large pokemon, a lot of attacks miss because u hit random objects like bushes or the pokemon just get stuck and killed by the opponent. The multiplayer is complete chaos, just a dice roll on who wins.
The game has about 50 unique assets copy and pasted throughout the city. The wild zones are kinda lame, theyre too small so it's difficult to hunt rarer pokemon without getting constantly bothered by alpha pokemon which summon the entire wild zone to attack you.
Other than that I appreciate they tried something new, also not having the link cord was a big let down too. Cos I can't complete the dex.
