I feel sorry for Eoin Colfer. His Artemis Fowl series of books created a vividly engaging, immersive world with strong characters and a plot so thick, it absorbed the reader into a world of magical creatures. This movie is an insult to his vision. It lacks substance, it bends the plot and characters beyond what would be considered reasonable creative license; and it leaves the viewer confused, hoping one of the fairies perform a mind-wipe on them, so they can forget the ordeal of watching this movie.
