The historical events that this movie is based on are truly inspiring. But this movie does a poor job of capturing them. The production quality is pretty low; feels like 90's Doordarshan level special effects. Songs were utterly forgettable and unnecessary. The runtime could have been a lot shorter. The script does not introduce any of the key characters in detail and you never feel very invested in them. It feels just as dry as reading your 4th standard history textbook. Dialogue feels like a total rip-off from Babasaheb Purandare's books. The movie uses some very overused tropes like a lamp going out the same time as the husband dies. Very unoriginal story-telling. Could be so much better. Save your time and money and skip this movie. Maybe read a book about Shivaji Maharaj instead.
