The movie isn’t bad, it definitely had a good chunk of effort thrown into it, but it definitely wasn’t good. The story had little too logic. While the original was an insane plot and story it still was enjoyable. While this movie feels like a reboot gone wrong. The movie feels like it’s relying too hard on the references. If you take the references out of the movie you have very little to nothing left to enjoy about it. The most notable reference in my opinion, Rick and Morty, feels out of place and very strange in a looney tunes basketball movie. Also I just wanted to point out that the exclusion of pee Pepe la pew really kinda ruined the whole movie for me. I’m not gonna get into the politics and controversy of Pepe la pew, but I just wished to see all the looney tunes get back together and sadly that’s not what I saw with Pepe la pew just being completely absent. The animation was off a small bit the designs we’re off from the classic looney tunes which annoyed me a small bit. Also the looney tunes felt a bit off with there gags, there are a few good gags, but the majority of the jokes felt off from classic looney tunes. LeBron James is a huge Super Star, but I felt like they called him King a few too many times. A felt like they were buttering him up a bit too much. I understand he is very talented, well known, rich and famous, but it just seemed to bit over done calling him king over and over. The villain was forgettable and not very likable. One of the main problems I saw was the basketball scene, the main part of the movie. I felt like that making it a video game wasn’t a bad idea, but it was executed poorly. Adding power ups, heavy cheating, style points, and the enemy team “The Doom Squad” being very unlikable and a weak villain. They aren’t nearly as good as villain as the originals “Monstars”, who are much more likable and enjoyable. The basket ball scene making little to no since and being completely absurd, not in looney tunes style fashion, but it felt like it was garbage the movie didn’t want to fully explain so they just wright it off a looney toons chaos. The movie should have been a classic basket ball match rather than the video game one which felt like nonsense in a bad way. The original was much better in almost every way, with the looney tunes keeping there iconic 2d look throughout the entire movie and a more grounded plot despite the looney tunes craziness. Overall the movie was still kinda enjoyable, with the movie being carried by references and the looney tunes themselves being very enjoyable to watch. Overall I would give it a 4/10. It wasn’t bad, but it could use a few major changes, it was overall ok not good, just ok. Sorry for making this review so long. Thank you if you actually read this whole thing.
