This movie was a huge disappointment. Deniro and Pacino were terrible, and poorly cast as Sheeran and Hoffa. Robert Diniro’s blue contact lenses hardly makes him look Irish, much less like the ruddy 6 foot 4 inch Frank Sheeran. Al Pacino does not resemble or sound like Hoffa. Joe Pesci is really good, but he can’t save this train wreck of a movie.
The story is jumbled and poorly edited.
The reverse aging process is creepy. These guys had younger faces but still walked and moved like old men, with the builds of old men- it was just weird.
All of the actors in the major roles- Hoffa, Sheeran and Bufalino were way too old for the parts.
I read the book I Heard You Paint Houses, and love it. I was really looking forward to this movie and was profoundly disappointed.
This turned out to be an ego project for Martin Scorsese and friends.
