Brilliant. Another masterpiece by Terry Gilliam, 12 Monkeys follows a more conventional plot than some of his other works and does not seem quite as unnerving as the other two works in his unofficial dystopian trilogy. (Brazil (1985) and The Zero Theorem).
Despite this fact this film remains a valid entry into his catalog and whilst a vast majority of stereotypical action fans may feel let down by this work fans of Gilliam's essential cynicism of mankind will be thoroughly pleased.
