Fantastic Four: First Steps — Yeah, It's Pretty Great!
Just watched Fantastic Four: First Steps, and honestly? I'm giving it a solid 85 out of 100. This movie felt genuinely good, a huge win for Marvel's First Family!
What really worked for me was how they handled things, especially with Sue Storm. You really felt the emotion there. And that scene with Shalla-Bal (the Silver Surfer) and her backstory? So good, and super emotional! It tied in perfectly with all the high stakes. Galactus also felt genuinely threatening, which was great to see.
Now, a couple of small things could've made it even better. I wished Reed had shown a bit more raw emotion, especially with Galactus wanting his baby. Imagine Galactus just roasting him, like "What are you gonna do, wrap me up like a rubber band?" and Reed just goes absolutely furious. That would've been epic!
Also, Ben (The Thing) didn't quite get the full "misunderstood monster" treatment. In the comics, he really struggles with how people see him. Adding some of that would've given him more depth. And yeah, kind of weird that Johnny Storm never even said "Flame On!" Right?
But honestly, those are minor gripes. Overall, Fantastic Four: First Steps is a great start. It's got heart, and it leaves you excited for what's next for this crew!
