Kim Brennan Culling

The Charlton Heston original film is simple but powerful. This film had a very over done plot with too many apes. I couldn't keep up with who were the good versus the bad apes. I don't want to be speciest but they all look the same. I still enjoyed this movie but am old school apes all the way.

I have watched all the planet of the apes movies. This is by far the best. The last movie was far too confusing. Who are the good apes and who are the naughty apes...just a few too many apes. The 1968 movie proves less is always more.

Witness is a fantasic movie with so many components that fall into place effortlessly. The comparison between the simple lives of the Amish people and the complications of corruption in the police force sets an interesting and dramatic scene. Weir is a master of using visuals instead of filling up every second of a film with dialogue. He is able to say so much with a scene or a look. Lucas Haas is beautiful as the young boy with the huge eyes full of wonder.
