My Review of Hellraiser: Deader
I honestly loved this movie. I don’t understand why it gets so much hate. The story felt unique and thought-provoking, exploring powerful themes like ambition, greed, and trauma.
Amy Klein, the ambitious journalist at the heart of the film, dives into a dangerous story only to end up sacrificing herself in the process. Her journey is haunting, especially as her abusive childhood continues to torment her. That emotional weight stayed with me long after the film ended.
I’ve seen the other Hellraiser films — and while many of them are undoubtedly great — Deader stands out in its own way. It might not follow the classic formula, but it touched me on a deeper level.
It deserves more credit than it gets.
