UPDATE 04/22/22:
It's been a full year since my initial two - star review of the series and I finally decided to start watching the series again from the beginning yesterday. And guess what . . . I'M ALREADY DONE!! I was pleasantly surprised with the story and character development. This series was SO MUCH more than just a modern remake of the classic "Turn of the Screw". This series was reminiscent of several horror titles and yet still very original. This one definitely surpassed all the others AND literally knocked my socks off! This series gave so many answers to the questions that have been asked about the turn of the screw for DECADES and also added so many layers and depth of feeling. Brilliant writing and cinematography. After the masterpiece that was delivered with the first season, I'm quite frankly disappointed in myself for expecting anything less with this season.
In my original review I suggested that the producers and writers consider expanding on the story of "The Yellow Wallpaper". Well, had I watched past the first 20 minutes I would have caught the slight reference made to it in the first episode AND so many details reminiscent of it throughout the series. 😊
If you haven't watched it already, then give it a chance. You will not be disappointed. Yet again, another masterpiece.

Initial Review:
I've only just started watching and probably will not finish. As someone who used to be an avid horror and thriller movie watcher I was wanting a story with more originality. The Turn of the Screw already has so many renditions and most of them follow the book very closely with a split decision on the ending. I feel this season would have been better served if they focused on lesser told/seen stories. A story that would have been amazing is The Yellow Wallpaper. There is SO MUCH development that could be done with a short story like that while still sticking to the overall narrative. . . Hopefully, someone who is apart of the creative team will see this suggestion and consider using The Yellow Wallpaper for season 3.
If I continue to watch over time then I will update my rating if needed.
