I’m astounded that no one on IMDB seems to get this show or it’s audience. It’s audience isn’t 14 year old boys and I’m shocked to read so many people acting like it missed that mark. It’s a parody. Of a lot of things, not just adolescence (from, yes, the point of view of a 40 yo comedian). It’s a shame to see all these user critics critiquing the show as cringeworthy not realizing it’s meant to be. (Really?) It’s what makes it funny— as does the fact that we KNOW a 40 yo woman is playing 14 yo Chad. It’s absurd.. and it’s funny. This show is great and different from the same old low bar comedy sitcoms that keep getting rolled out and renewed season after season. It’s not Big Bang Theory— that is, it’s not just endearing for the undiscerning masses with a bunch of one liners and an overactive laugh track telling you what’s funny. It’s cringey... and it’s hilarious. I really hope it’s intended audience stumbles onto this gem before it’s too late. Meanwhile, some of these “critics” who missed the point can maybe try and expand their humor palate.
