Completed the Plague Tale requiem just an hour ago and here's my review after completing the game.
Now where should I start, I would say the ending was very sad, like I wanted to cry. It was not the ending many people want or deserve but it is what it is. I played Innocence last year and it was already so much good and sad at the same time.
Amicia who worked so hard, and endured so many punishments but still lost is what makes me sad. She wanted Hugo to live so much, wanted a family, a stable family but lost everything in the end. She lost her father, then her mother, the obviously HUGO. They also planned to settle and live peacefully in the mountains but then right after that she lost everything and it is very very sad. IMO I think if HUGO didn't have so much horror in his life, he would've survived quite a good amount of wyears, F Inquisition, F Order, F Count. Due to the fear and anger HUGO suffered, he lost to MACULA as it loved to survive on emotions.
I also feel really sad for Hugo, such a little child, who always loved everyone, every animal and flower in the game. He wanted so much to live and have a happy family.
I would say, Plague Tale, The whole series shows us that sometimes in life we get certain things that we cannot change like certain diseases, and in the end, all our efforts go in vain, but we shouldn't let go. The plague tale is a stark contrast of real-life situations with flooding emotions. Also, it shows how some of us humans, even in dire situations, instead of acting wisely, go for power and the throne and in the end our lust kills us.
For the game, the developers did an excellent job, the music is top-notch, and the setting of the game is top-notch (not that setting, poetic setting). The visuals and graphics are very very good, and just the feeling of the game, gives you horror, anxiety as well as hopefully vibes, just to make you hopeless again. Making a good game is an art and poetry and the developers really delivered on this.
HOPEFULL for another Plague Tale 3. Would love to see AMICIA's new journey or someone else's tale, don't know, not sure.
