I’m inclined to agree with Lee Edwards and Richard Brown. Having read the books and found them one of the best reads of my life I am absolutely uninspired by this rendition of a great story. Characters are bland and for me there is very little of the glamour and edge of the seat excitement in this series that the books captured. The Golden Compass was much better.
