One star because great eye candy , Stefan and Damon are hot . Second star because I like 30 percent brain use drama sometimes and it serves that purpose. I guess this is an oft repeated point but I can't for the life of me imagine why a 145 year old , correction anyone over the age of 25 would want to hang out with teenagers? Not just hang out but date ? And fall in love. Even with the fact that they look young, omg how is this trope not predatory. I would be so so so bored ! Imagine having learnt so much in the past 100 years ( oh to have immortal youth and power to convince people to do anything, I would have been traveling the world , and .... I digress coming back ) it would be so so mentally unsatisfying to talk to absolute teenagers who've barely been alive . They're kids! Kids that cry about dating and acne . Maybe the vampires also stop growing mentally and emotionally after they turn ? That would explain it. Probably my fault for looking for logic and some semblance of healthy maturity, but it just feels so creepy.

Me: *breathless and gushing* Recommending this absolutely fantastic movie to everyone I know . Everyone : ooh we'll check it out! What genre is it ? Me: Uhhh. Well it's Uhhh...... everything. It's funny, sad, weird, romantic, philosophical, self - aware, nsfw, beautiful, intelligent, sci-fi, family. Not one frame , or one dialogue in this movie is irrelevant, I could not take my eyes away from the story(ies) , the visuals , the characters in this wonderfully crafted and incredibly creative experience. I can't wait to see it again , I'm sure I'll find a perspective I didnt see the first time around.

So full disclosure - I didn't really watch this movie how we watch movies. I have a separate movie watching experience where I watch the obviously bad movies - you kind of get an idea from the trailer how it's gonna be tbh. And this was my "Watch a bad movie after getting high for a good laugh". And it did not disappoint at all. It had everything missing ! Logic , acting , chemistry , dialogue, story , visuals , emotions , you name it ! And laugh I did. I think I would appreciate the effort taken to coolify kabaddi ? I mean for me the allure of games like that is that it's proper chhapri. You know like how youre doing all of these fancy dance steps and suddenly Govinda comes on and you start chalo ishq ladayein because you have to be true to the style. It has its own charm. Now I wouldn't want to add nora fatehi dance steps to Chalo ishq ladayein it would be doing disservice to both ( just like I think Ravena is the only tip tip barsa pani girl. And it's a hill I will die on. Katrina is hot too , she s the ultimate Sheila or chikni chameli but tip tip in yellow sari was , is and will be the ultimate... but I digress). So it was really weird to watch it ( hence funny ). And the rest of it, yeah I don't know how exactly to describe it. I feel like someone had an epiphany to make a thirsty kabaddi video for some reason ( Happy 420 to you too man, appreciate the attempted creativity for sure , but not every idea you have high is great. Trust me I know. My notepad has make my own kombucha as a mind blowing plan, and we all know how that goes ) and then because just making a kabaddi - martial arts movie isn't really a thing (would become too inspirational / sport movie type I guess) they decided to make a plot - so they threw in extremely complex subplots like : 1. middle class vs high class ( No ones done it better than Sarabhai yet , a shining star of Indian entertainment, man I miss star one) 2. a love triangle, and 3. fighting with friends thing. I don't know who picked whom in the end ? There was a " I'm leaving" by one of the chicks , followed by I love you by the guy and then some attempted romantic dialogue about growing old and a troublesome of just give me 10 percent of the love you have for this other chick. Hon you need some therapy for abandonment issues , not a boy. But the dialogues we're absolutely hilarious , it was funny that they didn't know it was funny kinda funny ya know ? All in all , if you have a similar weird hobby as I do - to watch bad movies to see how bad they can be and watch absolute nonsense ( reality tv is too much investment for me to satisfy those cravings) I would absolutely recommend this movie to you !!!!!

*spoilers* not that it's not predictable enough though. As soon as the first 15 minutes of the movie were done , we were able to predict the entire story. It was sooooo cliched. Of course he's going to leave/ betray her. Of course she's going to beguile him. Of course she's going to run away with everything. Was Dev patel's character new to the job ? Or just plain dumb? that too with anger management issues - which for his job is a BIG no no. There was no good suspense, no great climax. Just the guy being a total sus. Yeah sure , he fell in love in 2 days where they barely spoke in the entire movie and all we know about Radhika apte's character is she doesn't want to get married, live in Pakistan , studied pharmacy and is a gold digger. Also I am normally a big fan of Radhika but the on again off again accent was stupid. Might as well have just ignored it, wouldn't have made much of a difference, there wasn't a story anyway.

I've been in love with octopuses ever since I first heard about them being amazing puzzle solvers. They are extremely intelligent and creative . The story of this unusual friendship between Craig foster and this beautiful creature is mesmerizing to say the least. To watch her everyday life , and survival , and to notice this emotional mind that begins to develop is both beautiful and thought provoking. Life goes on around us , but some experiences and stories leave an indelible mark in your minds, and this was certainly one of them.

The visuals and the premise of the documentary is both breathtaking and fascinating. The stories as told by the people themselves of the spiritual relevance of something we only think of as a natural phenomenon was thought provoking and a wonderful premise. What I found lacking was a captivating pace and any connections between the stories. It didn't flow so to speak , and it didn't feel like the premise was quite justified in the storytelling.
