As an avid fan of the dark tower series since it came out I have been reluctant to watch the movie. I have just finished the movie and it was probably the worst possible outcome King could have let happen to this great series. How could you take a 7 book series with key characters like Eddie, Susannah, Blaine, Gasher, Andrew the quick, The Crimson King, EVEN ROLANDS OWN SON!!! Ha, not to mention Stephen King himself!!!! While the movie was just a mash of random events, it did hold true to much of the series. Right from events leading to the Dixie pig, the children of Roderick etc. I implore anyone who is a fan of the Dark Tower series to watch this movie once, if only to at least persuade yourself that Stephen King has let this atrocity of a version of his epic series been made a mockery of. If your unable to bring yourself to sully your vision of what Roland of Deschain actually is and you would prefer to see him as a one handed gunslinger then under no circumstance should you watch this movie.
