A rip roaring sea adventure suffering from some common tropes. The precocious child that knows more than the adults. The adults forced to change their point of view by said child. The redemption that follows. It's a great adventure that's well worth watching but there's nothing new here.

Too much fluff and not enough content. Visually very nice, but scratch beneath the surface and there isn't much there. Single player campaign is unengaging and repetitive, and doesn't have the challenge that earlier titles had. No where near enough for a game at this price point. Winning tournaments used to get you a spin on a wheel, gifting one of four cars. These days, it's a very very small amount of in-game credits, a small amount of in-game credits, or a moderate amount of in-game credits. Or maybe a tuning part for a car that you don't own. Boring! Don't worry though, because if you want that high-end car, you can put your hand in your pocket and spend real life cash to top up your balance. I'm not interested in setting up and taking photos of cars in a DRIVING GAME either. I WANT TO DRIVE! The in-game music is bland and unexciting classical themes. Gone are the days of Feeder and the like. Driving games should have an urgent sound track, this is just dull and makes me want to go to sleep. This game needs a serious shake up in subsequent patches and a lot more content to make it worth buying.

Plodding and predictable, signs of early promise are put to the sword by thin character development and a leaky plot. The two plot lines finally intertwine in the last minutes of the film, when all of the story's cards are played at once. By this point the audience has had plenty of time to work out what is going on anyway.

Tries way too hard to be brooding and mysterious.
