Very, very good …. But stops just short of true greatness thanks to endless blocks of expository dialogue and too many characters we’re supposed to not only recognize but know who they’re working for and if they are or might betray their employer, and on behalf of whom. The action and stunt work is fantastic, and a sequence on an incrementally falling train is one of the best set pieces I’ve ever seen. Definitely worth watching, but not as good as the series’ best, Fallout. Just too much of a muchness.

Thor 3 was excellent, a perfect blend of superhero adventure and comedy. This time, as usual with Hollywood, they took something that worked and went way way way too far with it. This is just a comedy, period, no adventure. Just jokes. Bummer.

A long, long, loooong movie that thinks it’s much darker than it really is.

A revelation. I can’t think of another instance where the public has been able to see so much of the creative (and destructive) process at work. Watching Paul goof off while waiting for John to show up, and slowly creating one of his greatest songs, actually seeing it happen…. It’s unbelievable. The Beatles never seem to run out of gifts to give us. This is one of their greatest. Thank you to everyone involved, in 1969 and now.

Extremely routine. Three good leads, zero surprises, but worth watching.

Not actually a Bond movie. A reasonably passable 2000’s action flick with lots of big guns, explosions, and self-important exposition, but totally lacking the main ingredient in all Bond movies: FUN. Nobody smiles, nobody quips, nobody is having any fun at all. Not even the bad guy. A waste of time.

This movie is a slam-bang action thriller with great characters, good guys and bad guys alike, for the first two-thirds if the movie... and it forgets to HAVE the last third. It ends so abruptly, with so many questions unanswered and at least one completely unnecessary character death, that I sat through the credits convinced they were kidding, the third act was gonna kick in any... second... now. But nope. That’s all she wrote.
