The story’s charms lie in Stephen King’s penchant for tangents within the story itself and narrowing the book down to 9 episodes is like a bad version of “‘The Stand’ for Dummies”. The crude and lazy way some characters are developed is baffling. Trash Can Man is introduced like a Molotov cocktail, ruining any suspension of disbelief. A great actor rubbing furiously to polish a turd. The Stand deserves a bigger budget and better writing to make it work on screen.
