It's fine. OK. Not bad. Alright. Middle of the road. That's really about all I can say for it. A not terrible, not great, fairly forgettable, inoffensive film. Hugh Grant was a highlight for me. Other than that, yeah... it was fine. Would I watch it again? No, probably not.

The movie is visually stunning and the score in the first quarter of the movie is brilliant. However it is lacking any sort of emotional connection and I left the cinema feeling essentially nothing. It also suffers from being far too long and the narrative is not focused enough. There’s definitely an interesting story to be told here, but jumping between three main storylines - two of which are simply just quite boring - doesn’t make the most of it.

The pacing of the film is a mess, as is the balance between comedy, action and emotion - with far too much (poor) comedy, forgettable action and a complete lack of emotion.

Sometimes you just need a fun movie to switch off and zone out to. This isn’t it. It’s dreadful.
