It was definitely an idea: “let’s bring Connery back into the ligh.” The bottom line is, he had his moment; he shaped the mold, he made his mark. But it’s still not comfortable to see an old man act like James Bond, nor is it convincing. That’s the exact reason why they have to keep changing out the actors. It wasn’t a bad idea to bring him back. The error was when the script was made to suit the young Bond.
