I don't watch much TV, but Lodge 49 has me hooked! Creator Jim Gavin is a genius. I am not going to spoil you, Gentle Reader, with the story line, you can find that elsewhere. The writing is extremely well done; the main plot takes a mystical tone, not unlike Twin Peaks, but nowhere near as abstract. The many sub-plots seem screwball at times, but they intersect in a contrived manner that is artful and delightful. The characters are developed in such a fashion that they deliver moral and thoughtful messages in unexpected acts and words of kindness that I have not seen in any mass media before. I am moved by every scene. ALL the actors express their distinct personalities and roles with virtuosity, delivering their lines with perfect timing, expression, and deliberateness. The settings often take place on a job site or in a bar, and most of us in the USA can relate to the overt story line.
