I may like the later episodes better, but the beginning of this series is a COMPLETE RIP OFF OF BRAVE. The mother daughter relationship the dad, the moms position, even the three brothers. It’s so incredibly blatant that I am completely turned off by it only half way through the first episode. Not to mention the corruption of the Mayan culture. Gold was not money for them, it was used as tribute to the sun God. Mayan royalty were sacrificed, their blood was considered the greatest tribute to the Gods. That doesn't mean they were killed, but their blood was used sacrificially. That was their duty as royalty and it was an honor.

Love this movie. Great concept, well executed. Twisty, heart wrenching, and deep.
