Gotta say, I went in pretty excited and came out thoroughly disappointed. This movie never seemed to get out of first gear and suffered from a real lack of identity down the stretch. The Skrulls are very confusingly written, the movie doesn't have the comedic teeth of Guardians or Ant Man but seems very confident that it is setting the same tone successfully. The 90s setting is completely wasted and really only serves as a vehicle for the whole Young Nick Further thing while doing NOTHING to inform us about his history or that of SHIELD in general. Just a lot of wasted opportunities and a lot of unearned confidence in the in the script. Feels like the actors we're a lot more aware of the mediocrity than the writers/director. Super disappointing overall and I'm a fan of the character historically. Oh well. Onto Endgame!
