Her immersive writing style and detailed world building placed me immediately in the heart of her novel right alongside the mysterious main characters. My heart leapt and sank along with their fates as events unfolded, and I honestly can’t remember the last time the entire book felt like “the good part” of a book. I grew up in the Middle East and the ancient Arabian civilization and culture that she intertwined with her world was done perfectly. The best book I’ve read since The Wheel of Time. A must read.

After reading the books it’s always hard to judge shows based on how well they match the books. But the world that they unveil in it is vibrant, entertaining, full of mystery, and the plot is unfolding beautifully. The first episode is clunky but each episode improves on the next by pretty large margins. I eagerly anticipate each Friday’s episode release as every episode after 3 so far have been absolutely stellar.
