Calcutta is not good at working with more than 1 character. The greatest problem with Srijit's movies are that there is story, a bunch of versatile actor-actress and yet he is so bad at handling those characters. But, when u watch Dui Prithibi, the camera moves fluently on the 3 key character.Jeet is not just romeo or sad devdas wandering around the country, the story develops him, his character so incredibly that u grow your emotion for him throughout the movie, he is not the key focus,he is a path to the end. Dev appears like a comic relief, but he develops too, till the end Dev continues to grow. We actually get to see him as an element for the story. Two story-line walking side by side, neither independent, nor enter-twined. My opinion is that this film is actually an one-in-a-carrier gem for both of these main-stream hero. And, Quel Mallick's character is so nicely depicted here that its surprising for a commercial movie. She didnt just remain there as a trophy, she doesnt occur many time in the main timeline, yet she influences the whole journey, she is as much as an active character as the duo.The side characters somehow placed itself in such a way that u care for them too. The movie never drops it tone, not once. The movie stay with its drama-tensed tone till the end. The journey you will experience watching it is as beautiful as the journey that the movie depicts.
