WOW WOW WOW! MUST WATCH! I have seen a fair share of Korean historical dramas.. But THE KINGS AFFECTION is by far on the top of my list! This gender bender was all about the "affection" all the characters had for each other. And about love and devotion regardless of gender. Great plot, amazing cast, wonderful sceneries Every week I sat on the edge of my seat while watching this fantastic drama. Each episode never failed to make me sad, tense, scared, and happy at the same time, delivering the right doses of action, emotion, drama and romance. I was prepared for the WORSE and Hoped for the BEST. Park EUN BIN, spectacular acting playing a most challenging role with all her heart and soul. The emotion in her eyes said it all. She deserves an acting award for this. She has said “Rather than drawing a straight line between Hwi as a man and Hwi as a woman, I felt it was more important to make Hwi convincing as a person" and she did that spot on! Her acting displayed the loneliness, heartbreak, strength and the love of her people especially her "affection" for those closest to her. Park Eunbin and Rowoon had amazing chemistry and their scenes were fantastic Rowoon and all the supporting actors were excellent a joy to watch and the writing and directing was excellent. What team work! The cast, everyone of them was perfect. Sure there were some unanswered questions left but....what else is new in any movie or series I only felt relief and joy at the happy ending for Dam-i and Jung J-un who deserved to have a happy, peaceful life together and for Dam-i to finally be her true self after living a sad and lonely life that she did not chose. When nhe told her father"I have never lived my own life" That about did me in So true! Was so happy Hyun, Eunuch Hong, Court Lady Kim, and Eun-Seo got to see them. They all went through so much together and I'm happy the were reunited at least in the end. Going to watch the whole thing again. This is great storytelling I hope the world will watch this Netflix series! So happy the PARK EUN BIN, the only one who can pull off to play a man's role in Kdramaland without even trying hard won awards on KBS Awards. It was the best decision for The King's Affection to choose her in the lead role
