I thought this movie was achingly beautiful. It’s a timeless story executed on a profoundly piercing, dark level. We watch as a pianist descends into madness disguised as a path to the devil. But she is unaware of what’s happening, yet discovers the clues along the way. This movie reminds me of fresh opportunity for a woman with a beautiful talent being clipped by emotionally charged opposition. Sometimes life cuts you down so much on what you’re trying to accomplish. That it drives some to the point of breaking. The ending leaves you desperate to know whether reality has been just a dream we step into all along. The ending took my breath away. I’ve thought the reviews for this movie have been definitely underrated.

I cannot wait for the second movie! If there is one. I hope so. I do wish this movie had delved deeper into the craft to be better understood. If there is a second movie, I hope they show that. I found this one particularly good because it was eerie in all the right ways. The scenes were out of this world beautiful and it was another take on a classic tale. I very much enjoyed this movie. Thank you!
