I agree with another reviewer. This 7 part series should have been done in a 2 hour movie. It was dreadfully boring and I am at a loss as to how people were thrilled and gripped to their seats. What is gripping about scene after scene watching someone saw through a tunnel or the day to day life of the prisoners and the prison workers? I was utterly bored except to finally see what happened to everyone as I didn’t know the story. The flashback episode was pointless and annoying placed in part six. We didn’t need an hour to see why they were in prison. Five minutes would have told the story just as well and that’s the overall problem with the series. What could have been shown in minutes took hours just to make it a 7 part series instead of a two hour movie. I may have been gripped to my seat during a two how movie but with so much unnecessary footage I was just plain bored. Were the actors good? Sure, but nothing special and I believe their acting and the long, seemingly endless story were due to Stiller’s direction. He should stick to acting.
