In its limited cinema release, Dont Look Up played for two weeks, where nearly every moviegoer sat in a silent room being explained to over a two hour runtime. Perhaps the most unfunny film made by Adam McKay, almost no audience laughed leading to a numbing silence over stilted dialouge and purely tragic staire of our current political climate. At the same time the movie is well acted, awkward, ridiculous and too boring to engage audiences.

As much as I loved the concept for this book, there was a huge discrepency between what the subject deserved and what the author could produce. Even on a technical level, the book lacks a cohesion and moreover a synthesis of its core themes to actually evoke any meaningful thoughts in the reader. With Donald Trump just finishing his term, it is clear that nobody knows what it takes to become president anywher, however the writer is well of the mark regardless with this abysmal social expose. 2/5
