M༶r༶s༶ A༶m༶e༶r༶i༶c༶a༶ Watching series ;thanks to COVID is a 'in' thing and routine for many of us,but than unexpectedly you stumble upon a jewel... That's how mrs america is. The credit of this series cannot be solely given to the fact that it depicts the historical second wave of feminism(and that Iam a true blue feminist😁) but to the way it has been crafted- it's an intelligent piece of art with razor sharp dialogues, amazing debates, brilliant alignment of scenes and opposite perspective.Not giving in to desire of painting someone as vile, villain/devil.The last particular thing ..We Indian audiences would understand better thanks to bollywood movies where there are clear cut whites and black,right and wrong..Not much of a grey zone;while everyday life reminds you every moment that grey zones are the norm. Rather than exceptions in everyday life. Cate blanchett leaves you speechless, for her acting prowess makes you love the antagonist and wanting to watch her even more. Rose Byrne is subtle nd restrained and the character comes out as poignant but still stoic nd calm ,her take on having family or not comes so silently ..it seems like Pacific ..too much depth and turmoil inside but the surface is calm.Her uncanny resemblance to Gloria steinman is worth marveling on.The character fills you with intrigue and mystique. The other characters are also so well developed and provide a glimpse into rainbow of human nature. Wonderful scenes have been created to divulge into the minds of characters. Above all the series focuses on a issue which is still valid- that how women who got and are enjoying emancipation;thanks to the predecessor of feminism consider this term as useless,vile and derogatory. How they;who are blooming on a wrapped potion of feminism.. don't want to acknowledge it. How ambitious women can use conservative emotions to rise on the ladder of patriarchy and get tricked by men instead😁 Thankfully the series has also given ample screen to both kind of men ..those who want women to downplay and disregard them and those who take women as just another human being full of desire and ambitions and dreams and want to go all the way to h⃠e⃠l⃠p⃠stand by them. If you are used to thriller, melodrama,high speed kind of entertainment with romance as smoothening agent to glide through 9episode long series..sorry this is not for you For others it's worth every second of yours.
