I LOVE Loki. From his character's development and nuanced personality to his top-notch humor and (let's be honest) beautiful face. He is one of my top 5 Marvel characters. But this show was kind of a disappointment! Especially after I loved Wandavision so much.
I just finished season 1, and I've never cared less about this many characters in a Marvel show before. I couldn't care less about Sylvie's character (huge bummer!), and I'd be willing to bet the drive for "strong female characters" was prioritized over "well-developed characters." I LIVE for romance and was excited to see how Marvel would place our beloved, mischievous Loki in a relationship. But, the chemistry just wasn't there for me. There wasn't anything meaningful tying the two of them together.
The production of this show was 10/10, as Marvel is known for, but the storyline that starts strong at the beginning fades to an anticlimactic close by the end, with characters like Loki losing the traits we love about him: his charm, wit, and an unexpected plan in his back pocket. I wanted so badly to like this show, but unfortunately I just didn't even recognize Loki most of the time. :(
