1975: I had the pleasure to accompany this movie on the piano at the enlisted club at the NATO base at Keflavik, Iceland. My cousin Norma sent me the sheet music for the song "At That Bully Wooly Wild West Show". The music was a perfect fit. (I brought in some other music by Mozart and Beethoven, to name a few.) I had to concentrate to keep the music with the images on the screen. This is a great movie if you want to laugh-out-loud! As the owner of the Blackhawk 8 mm film explained at that time, this was one of Fairbanks' last if not his absolute last silent movie. NOTE: You may want to compare this movie's style with that of the silent "Zorro". There are lots of nods to inside jokes about classic scenes from westerns. The newer edition has a music sound track, as I understand, but if you play the piano, gather up some classic music and accompany it yourself -- and entertain your friends and family! Enjoy!
