As an avid JP fan I can honestly say the only thing this movie succeeded in was making Fallen Kingdom “watchable”. Absolute flaming trash can of a movie. Plot is all over the place. Jeff Golblums acting like he’s shrooms, Grant and Satler have no reason to be in the film whatsoever other than to bring in OG jurassic fans and Dodson as the villain could have been interesting if they had started with him as the villain in JW one. Instead his inclusion is painfully obvious that they just needed a “bad guy and anyone will do”. So so so gutted how bad this film turned out. There’s so much more to go into but go and watch it for yourself if you have nothing and i mean nothing better to do

The only positive thing i’ll say about this movie is that they finally killed off a main character. Poetically it was Dewey who, as much as I like him, should have died in the 1st one. The acting is really poor. Even from veterans like courtney cox and neve campbell who, again, I normally really like. It’s uncomfortable to watch them in most of the scenes they’re in due to either awkward acting or poor lines/script. The new lead is awful along with the entire new group of teens except for tara. Who was the only enjoyable acting experience. I was hoping beyond hope that the ghostface reveal would at least salvage some of the rubbish i’d had to sit through up to that point but I would say is probably worse than the random director Roman in scream 3. Poor poor reveal. Overacting from nothing characters. Finally one of things that really bugged me was the fact that the twins are related to Randy. The only reason I can think of why they did that is so they could have an excuse to put another “legacy” character in there. Same with the Billy hallucinations (absolutely ridiculous btw it’s a scream movie). As bad as Scream 3 was it at least had Wes Cravens direction so it feels at home in the franchise. It’s very clear for all to see and feel that his touch is absent from this abomination. Maybe it’s time to finally let this franchise rest. Probably not.

People moaning that “character development” is missing. What did you go there to see? Same problem Kong vs Godzilla has. If you’re going to see an emotionally well written piece of art.. be prepared to be disappointed.. if you’re going for a exactly what it says on the tin. Great film.. it’s a video game adaptation. Was never gonna be titanic or la la land.
