This show makes the mistake of casting incredibly troubling actions as acceptable behavior. In 2020, to see a man, even a man who is a god, disguise himself as a woman's husband in order to sleep with her and still be considered a forgivable father is ridiculous. Readers of Greek Mythology have long come to the conclusion that Zues is no positive figure and that to be seduced by him is a death sentence.
In 300BCE men were not expected to remain faithful to their wives or respect consent in carnal activities. This is no longer the case, and yet the show treats the audience as if those expectations have not shifted. Had the show wanted to make a fresh take on stories of Hera seeking revenge on Zues' demigod children, it might have resulted in both Heron and the gods making sure Zues keeps it in his pants for the rest of time.
All of this being said, the animation of this show is spectacular and the music does justice to the battles the show weaves beautifully. However, no amount of beautiful stylization or acting can overcome the shortfalls of a story that lauds the actions of a rapist as acts of love.
