This is David’s third book on his favorite propaganda project. Assisting Mauritius in a power grab to add more than half a million square km to their EEZ and rob American taxpayers in an even more expensive lease for Diego Garcia, one of our most critical military installations, by pressuring the legal owner, the UK, to relinquish it. The sad part is he’s using the pretext of indigenous rights to advance the economic cause of the Mauritian government and generates 400 pages of ‘research’ to unwittingly support this neo-colonial project. Somehow in those hundreds of pages he never once mentions that PM Jugnauth has been feverishly maneuvering for the better part of a decade to renew a more expensive lease for the base with the US via Trump and Biden. But that is what American University Anthropology faculty do best; manipulate the weak in service of powers that will use them for own ends, on the pretext of some noble cause. Dave could potentially make a more cogent argument for the conviction of John Proctor. It’s not too late for him to be an electrician. He’s very good at operating a light switch. I’ve seen him do it :)
