There is only so many times you can rip off the old films. It's like they've paid some boffins to figure out what made the old trilogy good and built the new films around that formula and I have must admit it's getting really old now. Bar Rey's backstory (the only thing that defines her character) I have zero interest in her, Finn or the watered-down rip-off of Hans Solo, Poe. I actually said to myself at the films mid-point all we need now is a lesbian kiss and voila there it was at the end, why does it have to all feel so planted? Anyway, it's Star Wars by numbers. You won't be amazed and you won't be disappointed you'll be somewhere in the middle when it's over. But the fact they're rehashing the old formula so much is why I'm giving it a 2 rather than a 3.
