Compelling docu/drama about one of my all time favorite actors. Credibility confirmed by producers being daughter and an x wife! Sad to say it shattered my idealism of the guy in reality. Brilliant actor who triumphed despite his painfully poor start in life and his narcissistic father. Sadly, rooting for him and his tenacity against all odds was cancelled by his own narcissistic traits once he made it! Don’t let it put you off watching though. Fabulously scripted and directed and I have no doubt very accurate portrayal of this great actor

I generally steer clear of Richard and Judy Bookclub choice but picked up The Holiday whilst on holiday. Thought it would be a lighter read under hot sun. Couldn't put it down. Love psychological thrillers and love to guess the outcome but here it was impossible! So many twists. I literally cried at one point too. I think it also serves as a warning for parents to be more vigilant but don't want to say too much in case it ruins it. Well worth buying, well worth reading and I can't wait to read T.M. Logan's other books. I like his style and pace. He keeps me interested. Short paragraphs and no unnecessary waffling.

Wasn’t wanting to watch this, but you just have to! Everyone was talking about it so much it grabbed my curiosity! Fabulous acting and full marks to directors and producers also. The combination of actual footage combined with the acting was spot on. It really does open up your eyes to how influential people can fool ‘almost’ everyone. My heart goes out to the brave victims who eventually found the courage to speak out and to all those unidentified people who fell prey to this abominable creature!

Mediocre but watchable. I didn’t exactly find it riveting and laughed my way through most of it in a “as if” kind of way! Not exactly the sign of a gripping thriller. Even allowing for “artistic license” the plot was too far fetched to be believable”. Too many unrelated plots too which leaned on the side of a ‘soap’ - The life of an everyday housewife! (excluding the murder that is) Well done to the youngest son. He played his part so well that I really felt it for him. The rest of the characters didn’t do a lot for me. Not sure if it has ended here (unresolved issues) but I don’t think I would be in a hurry to watch it if there was.

Bit late joining the reviews but just watched and I really enjoyed it. Not to be taken too seriously and did have elements of Enid Blyton’s “famous five” at times but I thoroughly enjoyed it. The cast included so many familiar faces. I even felt empathy for Frank because he loved his dog so much! If you want to take it as a serious drama you will be disappointed but take it as it is and you will enjoy it. Light hearted, easy viewing and with a lot of food for thought regarding gambling thrown in the mix. I loved it 😍

Was really looking forward to this and first episode looked promising. Sadly that’s as good as it got. We were introduced to so many characters who had nothing to bring to the plot, which incidentally, wasn’t exactly credible! Seemed to be “thrown” together without much thought like “we will introduce an ex husband” For what reason? A colleague who she might or might not have slept with 🤷‍♀️ There was no real explanation to anything. So I stuck with it as I felt the ending might have a twist and blow me away - it didn’t, it sent me to sleep! Might appeal to some but you would have to ignore all the ‘holes’
