It's weird that she's heralded as a warrior princess when in fact she did not actually fight. She volunteered to be buried alive in sand & somehow that magically saves her people.

Our 4 YO found this book endlessly fascinating. Even thought some of the language went over her head, the overall story arc and delightful illustrations made her want to have it read to her dozens of times & she now adores Grace Hopper.

In its attempt to make the reader feel good, this book exaggerates the ratio of good people to bad ones & totally neglects to account for systemic issues that harm people without need for individual malice.

A very moving tale with gripping plot and relatable characters.
